The death of a loved one was undoubtedly a sad thing for the relatives. The pain in his heart had not yet subsided, but at the entrance of the funeral home, he was refused by the taxi driver because he was carrying an urn. I believe that no matter who encounters such a scene, it will be difficult to suppress his anger.
On February 22, Miss Zhang and her family in Hangzhou encountered such a scene. The taxi driver first drove them out of the car. After arguing, he simply stopped the car on the side of the road, pulled out the key and left.
Passenger:
The driver said only the living, not the dead
At around 10:30 a.m. on Feb. 22, Ms. Zhang, her parents and aunt drove her grandmother, who was in her 80s, home from the Hangzhou Funeral Home, carrying her ashes. Using Didi’s taxi app, she hailed a taxi with the name "Hangzhou Funeral Home" and the destination was Jinjiang Seafood City.
The taxi driver called and said that he was driving a different car today, not the license plate displayed by the software. After a while, the car arrived, and it was a red one. "My mother wrapped the urn in cloth and put it in a travel bag. As soon as the driver saw it, he asked us what it was." Miss Zhang told the truth, and the driver immediately changed his attitude.
"Like chasing the god of plague, your attitude is very bad." Miss Zhang said, "Tell us to get off the bus immediately, I won’t take your order, you cancel the order, or call another car, or call a private car, anyway I won’t take it."
Miss Zhang asked, "Didn’t you refuse to take the car like this?" The driver said that his car was for business, "and he also said that I would pull the living, but not the dead." This sentence completely angered Miss Zhang’s family, and the two sides quarreled. After a dispute, Miss Zhang said, the driver simply started the car and leaned to the side of the road, unplugged the key and drove away. "He said, you are so powerful, you can drive it back by yourself, and give the car to you."
On the service supervision card in the car, the driver’s surname was Zhan. It was still raining lightly at the time, and an angry Miss Zhang called the transportation management’s complaint number and told them that it would take 15 working days to deal with it. She then complained to the mayor of Hangzhou at 12345. Finally, the family took the bus home.
The brother in question:
Running on the road all day, pulling urns is too taboo
Qian Bao reporter also contacted the party, Master Zhan. Master Zhan, a native of Quzhou, has been driving a taxi in Hangzhou for five or six years. The car has only been running for three months and is on the day shift.
Mr. Zhan told reporters that he did receive the order at around 10:30 a.m. on Feb. 22. "I saw something in the passenger’s hand and asked what it was. The passenger replied that it was an urn. I felt uncomfortable when I heard it, so I asked them to change the car."
Mr. Zhan said he had his own concerns: "We taxi drivers run on the road all day, and we pay attention to safety and prosperous business. There will always be taboos when we encounter this kind of thing. And if other passengers know that my car has pulled the urn, who will ask for my car in the future?"
The owner of this car, Master Tian, a native of Henan, has also driven taxis in Hangzhou for more than a decade, but this is the first time he has heard of such a thing.
He said that he quite understood Master Zhan. "In my hometown, the private car of the family usually helps to pick up and drop off the urn, so I’m sorry to call the car outside." However, Master Tian also said that communication and attitude are very important. "If Master Zhan could have explained patiently at that time, maybe the passengers would have accepted it."
Does my brother think so about this? When the reporter returned from the interview, he asked the driver who was driving by the way. The brother’s surname is Wu, but he doesn’t mind. The key, he said, is his own mentality and concept. "In our service industry, you will encounter all kinds of people and things every day. Correct your mentality and just treat it as a business, but it’s nothing."
Operation management:
Master Zhan’s behavior counts as refusing to carry and will be punished
So, does Master Zhan’s behavior count as rejection?
The Hangzhou Municipal Transportation Administration said that refusing to carry passengers is a serious illegal act, but if passengers have any of the following circumstances, taxi drivers can refuse to carry passengers or terminate service:
(1) illegally carrying controlled knives, firearms, and other state-regulated devices or flammable, explosive, highly toxic, radioactive, corrosive, and other items that affect public safety;
2. Bringing pets and other items that deface the vehicle in violation of regulations;
3. Intoxicated or mentally ill people are unaccompanied in a vehicle.
4. Require the driver to violate the provisions on taxi management, road traffic management, and public security management.
5. Smoking, spitting in the car, defacing the vehicle, or littering with waste.
And what Master Zhan encountered is not in the 5 types of situations that can be rejected. At present, the case is being processed. If the investigation is true, it will be dealt with as rejected, with a fine of 300-3000 yuan and 10 points deducted.
In addition, Hangzhou Yiyun, the taxi company where Mr. Zhan works, also said that it will deal with the driver’s behavior: deduct 500 yuan in liquidated damages, and suspend business for a day for criticism and education.
Funeral home plans to launch "spirit delivery service"
The funeral home has considered the fate of Ms. Zhang’s family, but it has not been realized due to limitations in terms of vehicles, personnel, and fees. The staff of the funeral home said that in the second half of this year, the museum plans to launch a "spirit delivery service" to send the ashes of the deceased to the home or cemetery according to the request of the family, which will save a lot of embarrassment and misunderstanding.
