Driver: "Ferryman" in the dark

After delivering the customer to the designated location very late, returning home is often not an easy task for the driver.

"Driver!" Seeing a female car leader/follower walk out of a seafood restaurant in Huizhou, the driver, Forrest Gump, pushed his folding electric car and followed the guest to the parking lot in small steps.

After 8:30 pm, the dinner at the hotel ended one after another, and the driver entered the peak period of receiving orders. That day, Forrest Gump waited outside the restaurant for more than two hours before finally receiving the first business. From Huicheng District Sanhuan South Road to Jiangbei District, about 10 kilometers away, the driver costs 46 yuan, which is almost twice the fare of a taxi.

Along the way, the female car owners complained about the high fees for chauffeur driving, and she felt that it was more reasonable to refer to the taxi fare standard. As a woman, she has more concerns about this kind of service, which is mostly used at night and after drinking, and the standardization of the industry is also the demand of most chauffeur customers.

Forrest Gump, 31, is noncommittal. He has been working full-time as a chauffeur for three years, and he only feels that money is getting harder and harder to make. Although the cake is getting bigger and bigger, there are more chauffeurs, and everyone gets less and less. This means he has to spend more time working to maintain his income. Now he works about 11 hours a day, and can only take four or five orders at most, earning an average of about 200 yuan a day.

According to the "2018 Entertainment Index Report" released by the National Big Data Research Center of a generation driving platform, last year, the number of times that the national generation driving was used reached 267 million times. According to analysts’ estimates, the output value of the national network generation driving exceeded 10 billion yuan. Some industry insiders said that, unlike first-tier cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen, Huizhou has a large gap between the demand for generation driving and the population, and there is still a large space for expansion of the driver market.

As with the development of many new Internet formats, as competition intensifies, labor costs will decrease accordingly. This can be seen in groups such as express drivers, takeaways, couriers, etc., and now the Huizhou driver market is showing the same trend. In order to make a living, driver drivers wait patiently in countless dark nights, or struggle to change.

  wait

Outside a large bar, where neon lights flicker on the facade of Huizhou’s famous nightclub, more than a dozen chauffeurs sit scattered on one side of the parking lot, their bodies swaying in colorful colors against the light.

Every night at about 9 o’clock, Forrest Gump will "report" here after delivering an order at the seafood restaurant. Compared with the system sending an order, Forrest Gump is more willing to wait for the order directly, because "the proportion of the system single platform is 5% higher than the order". Moreover, as a small driving platform adopts a low-price strategy to attract many customers, the system order volume of Forrest Gump’s mainstream driving platform is affected.

In the driving market, there were "many monks and few porridge". In the past, drivers could receive orders even when they sat at home, but now they may not have orders when they wait outside the restaurant. If they could receive an order every two hours, it would be considered "a lot of results".

Waiting is a compulsory course for every driver.

Forrest Gump has his own pastime, and he enjoys the freedom of this profession to a certain extent. In the driving line, the morning game is before 10 pm, and the night game is after the early morning. In the morning game, outside the seafood restaurant, Forrest Gump will play a few games of billiards with the "driving brothers" every day to kill time. The cost of venue rental, plus the money for buying cold drinks, Forrest Gump spent more than ten yuan before opening.

At night time, Forrest Gump will move to the vicinity of the bar. At this time, Forrest Gump and other chauffeurs always have a lot of excitement. Young people who dress up fashionably come in and out, and when people are drunk, they will inevitably stage a farce. Late at night on August 5, the traffic police routinely checked drunk driving on the nearby road. A young man was investigated for driving after drinking and fled back to the bar for fear of being punished. The traffic police chased all the way in.

The chauffeur who was waiting on the side began to discuss: "Alas, this kind of thing happens often…" "I know this person, he is a friend of the driver of XX, and I have sent him before." "Why bother? Why drive after drinking?" "If the traffic police were there to check drunk driving every day, our business would be good."

Forrest Gump doesn’t like Douyin. Most of the time, he gathers with other drivers to blow water and chat. From the anecdotes of driving to the trivia of life, there seems to be an endless amount of things to say. This time of talking about the mountains is particularly rare for Ah Fatty, who is facing a midlife crisis. "I can briefly forget the pressure of life," he said.

Fatty is over 40 years old and has two children, one in primary school and the other in junior high school. Because his household registration is not in Huizhou, his child’s choice of school brings him a lot of financial pressure. Unlike Forrest Gump, in order to save 10 yuan a day on mineral water expenses, he will specially bring a bottle of chilled water from home, wrap it in a white plastic bag and put it in his backpack. He always calculates the drink bit by bit, trying not to spend money on water.

Fatty decided to work at night as a full-time chauffeur to accompany his children as they grew up. During the day, when his wife went to work, he was responsible for preparing meals for the children and taking them to and from school. Due to lack of rest, when waiting for orders outside the bar, Fatty always slept first. He sat on a small plastic bench with his eyes closed, leaning against the stone pier next to him, holding his bag in his arms.

Sometimes the wait is a long intermission; sometimes the wait is fruitless. Mingge, who is in his 50s, waits for orders every day outside a hotel near his home. One day earlier this month, he didn’t receive an order until midnight. Anxious, he rode his electric bike around the parking lot. "Boss, do you want to drive?" Whenever a guest came out of the hotel, he would approach and ask.

It was raining late in the morning, and he did not receive any orders. The rain got heavier and heavier, and Brother Ming moved the electric car to the hotel porch. He carefully wiped the rain off the car and waited for his son to drive him home.

  livelihood

"Hello, × × driving. May I ask where you are? Okay, wait a moment, I’ll be there right away." At 11:40 pm, A Bin, speaking with a Henan accent, received a system dispatch.

This order had to go from Maidi in Huicheng District to Daya Bay, and he didn’t return to the city until about 2 am the next day. He didn’t finish work and go home, but went to the hotel where the night show was waiting for the order, and just happened to receive another close order. At that time, there were no other chauffeurs waiting for the order outside the hotel.

Abin is the older driver who often waits for orders outside the hotel. He just turned 50 this year and has been a full-time driver in Huizhou for four years. About five years ago, Abin’s business in his hometown failed. He traveled more than 1,500 kilometers south and planned to go to Huizhou to fight again.

"When you have money, other people are always the first and last." A Bin felt that this society was very realistic, and he wanted to escape the past environment and familiar eyes and start over. After settling down in Huizhou, A Bin worked in the wine business and was cheated of tens of thousands of yuan. He worked as a security guard, but his monthly income of more than 2,000 yuan could not support himself at all.

I heard that the income of the driver is considerable, and he has never stayed overnight in the past. He works the night shift. Abin leaves the house at 6 pm every day, finishes work around 3 am, and takes two or three days of proper rest a month, earning more than 6,000 yuan. Excluding daily expenses such as rent, he can also save two or three thousand yuan a month. "I have a son and a daughter, and my daughter is married. I want to plan for my son to get married now," Abin said.

As Ah Bin slowly got older, he could clearly feel the impact of staying up late for a long time. "In recent years, my hair has obviously turned a lot whiter, and my body has become weaker than before." Even so, he can only make money like this. "I’m so old, and I don’t have any skills, so it’s hard to find a job that is comparable to the income of driving."

The low barrier to entry is an important reason for attracting many full-time chauffeurs. Ah Shu is a "post-90s generation" with five brothers and sisters. Because his family conditions did not allow it, he dropped out of primary school before finishing primary school. At the age of 15, Ah Shu left his hometown Chaoshan and traveled to various parts of the Pearl River Delta to work. It was not until 2012 that he married a Huizhou girl that he stabilized. Ah Shu is the only source of income for the family, but he "has neither education nor skills", so he had to find a way out.

Among the group of chauffeurs, a large part-time drivers are part-time drivers. They are more interested in the freedom of chauffeur time and can also subsidize their family. Li Dawei came to Huizhou from Shanxi to work hard. Now he is the owner of a small IT company and started working part-time as a chauffeur during the Spring Festival this year. "I am idle at night. It is better to come out and work part-time to subsidize my family."

In early August, Li Dawei had just handed over the house he bought in Zhongkai, and he had to pay off the mortgage of more than 3,000 yuan per month. He hoped to use the income from part-time driving to pay for this expenditure. Li Dawei would finish work at 1 am when he took orders, and usually woke up at 8:30 in the morning. His energy during the day was obviously not as good as in the past.

Sometimes, Li Dawei also entertained customers at night, and would also ask for a chauffeur after drinking. After experiencing the change of identity, when he was a chauffeur, not only did he not have a sense of difference, but he was more understanding and understanding. "Everyone drinks differently, and some people can’t control their emotions after drinking, and it is inevitable that their attitude will be bad."

However, most chauffeurs have to experience initial discomfort to "ignore" the rudeness of some drunk customers. This is the case with Forrest Gump. If he hadn’t been struggling in society after graduating from high school, if his wife hadn’t been pregnant at the time, he felt that he might not have been able to hold on.

When he first worked as a substitute driver, Forrest Gump was very nervous and just happened to bump into a new car. "He braked suddenly as soon as he stepped on it, and the customer scolded him three or four times in a row." In the first half of the year, if he was really angry, he would retort a few words.

As a driver, Forrest Gump also wants to be understood and respected. He is tired of always wrangling with customers for detours or not, and he is tired of being worried about not getting the money he deserves. Forrest Gump said that once, the customer said a lot of compassionate words to him, and he was very touched and insisted on forfeiting the driver’s fee.

  Way Back

The night and the alcohol did not warm up the feelings between the driver and the passengers. No matter what they saw or heard, the memory of the passers-by would soon be put on the shelf. The driver was the "ferryman" in the city at night. They brought the owner home safely, and the next step was to return home alone.

Unlike first-tier cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen, Huizhou quiets down early at night, and public transportation usually stops at 10 pm. If the driver really receives a distant order, he may not be able to return home without a lot of trouble.

Mr. Li once sent a customer back to Shenzhen, where it was almost 3am. The driver’s fee was 240 yuan, and the customer tipped an extra 300 yuan. "The customer was worried that I wouldn’t be able to go home, so he asked me to stay in Shenzhen for one night before leaving." Unwilling to spend the money, Li Dawei rode an electric car to find a driver-sharing point in Shenzhen, and spent dozens of yuan to return to Huizhou.

However, not all neighboring cities have such carpooling points, like Dongguan. If he receives an order to Dongguan, Ah Bin often stays up all night. Because the driving platform Guanhui Network can also take orders in Dongguan, he roams the streets all night. If he is really tired, he finds an Internet cafe to pass the time and waits for a ride back to Huizhou at dawn.

Only at the moment of receiving the order will the driver know their destination, and they have no right to refuse. Every time an order is received, it is like a lottery draw. When luck is bad, there may be far orders in nooks and crannies, and the round-trip process becomes "difficult".

At the beginning of last month, A Jun, a full-time driver, received such an order, covering a distance of 70 to 80 kilometers from Huicheng District to Boluoyuanzhou Town. When A Jun delivered the customer to the community, it was already more than 4 am, and the farthest range of the folding electric car was only 70 kilometers, so he couldn’t return home for a while. A Jun simply chatted with the security guard of the community until dawn before taking the bus back to Huicheng.

About a week ago, Forrest Gump also encountered "misfortune" on his way home. The journey from Huicheng District to Huidong Shili Silver Beach was nearly 70 kilometers, and it was already 4 am when he arrived. Forrest Gump originally planned to go to Tamsui from Baihua Avenue to carpool, but he mistakenly turned the navigation into a cycling mode, and the route was full of mountain roads without passing through Tamsui.

Gump grew up in the countryside and was not afraid of riding in the mountains in the early morning, but he was afraid of dogs. The little local dogs along the way chased him all the way for two kilometers. Looking back now, Gump still has lingering fears. That morning, Gump rode his electric car slowly and took about 5 hours to return to his home in Gutangao.

The house was rented by Forrest Gump. The house they bought in Zhongkai was only handed over last month, and they had to pay off the mortgage of more than 3,000 yuan every month. On the 27th of this month, Forrest Gump’s wife was due to give birth, and their second child was about to be born. As a father and husband, Forrest Gump had a heavier burden on his shoulders.

"Driving a driver is a transitional job, and I still need to find a job with social security in the future." Forrest Gump thought that it would be a good choice to drive in a regular logistics company like SF Express or become a professional electrician in the future. However, both positions require corresponding qualifications, and Forrest Gump has not yet obtained them.

Forrest Gump likes a freer career. He doesn’t want to enter the factory anymore and works like a "photocopier" every day. "Young people have been doing substitute driving for a long time, and people have become lazy, and they have become less and less combat and willpower." Forrest Gump is trapped in his comfort zone and can’t take the first step. But he also knows clearly that this is not his way back. If you don’t agree with a word, you will cut people: users who order food online give bad reviews and are slashed by the store

July 16, 2016 15:55:30 Source: Xinhua News Agency

Xinhua News Agency Jinan July 16th new media special cable, the question: online order to give a bad review on the knife to hurt people Ele.me store is crazy?

Xinhua News Agency "China Network" reporters Wei Shengyao, Wang Yang, Zhou Lin

Recently, due to a bad comment with abuse, a mobile phone ordering software user in Jinan, Shandong Province was slashed by a store on the "Ele.me" platform with a knife, resulting in 19 stitches on the left eyebrow bone, right collarbone, right thumb and index finger. The incident of "Ele.me store stabbing people" has sparked heated discussions about the security of food ordering software.

Some netizens said that although it is an individual case, it is the most important thing to deal with the aftermath of the food ordering platform involved and avoid such vicious incidents from happening again; netizens questioned that the apology of the food ordering platform involved was delayed 20 days after the incident, why was it so inactive? Some netizens also asked, from black-hearted food to door-to-door injuries, is the food ordering software safe? With these focuses of attention, "China Network" conducted relevant interviews and investigations.

Chop people if they don’t agree with each other? "Late + bad review" brew intentional injury

At about 19:00 on June 25, the police station on Wenhua East Road of the Public Security Bureau of Lixia District, Jinan City received an alarm that an injury case had occurred in a community on Wenhua East Road. After receiving the police, the police quickly arrived at the scene, summoned the suspect Wang to the police station, and sent the injured Yue to the hospital for treatment.

The reporter learned from the Lixia District Public Security Bureau that after investigation, on the morning of June 23, the victim, Mr. Yue (male, 23 years old, from Jinan), ordered a takeaway fast food from the suspect Wang (male, 26 years old, from Hejian City, Hebei Province, and the owner of a fast food restaurant) on a mobile phone ordering software. Due to the long delivery time, Yue was dissatisfied. Yue then wrote a bad comment with abusive words in the comment column of the Wang store of the ordering software.

At about 19:00 on June 25, the suspect Wang brought a kitchen knife to the victim Yue’s residence to find his theory. He met the victim who was about to go home at the door of Yue’s house. The two had an argument, and Yue called 110 to call the police. Subsequently, the suspect Wang pushed the victim Yue to the wall, and Yue hit Wang on the head. The suspect Wang took out the kitchen knife he carried with him, causing the victim Yue’s left eyebrow bone, right clavicle, right thumb, and index finger to be injured in multiple places. After being sent to the hospital, 19 stitches were sutured. After forensic identification, Yue’s injury was minor.

At about 23:00 on June 25, the parties took the initiative to request mediation, and the police of Wenhua East Road Police Station mediated the case. Due to the lack of agreement on the amount of compensation, the mediation failed. According to the provisions of Article 43, Paragraph 1 of the Law of the People’s Republic of China on Public Security Administration Punishments, Wang has been sentenced to administrative detention for ten days and a fine of 300 yuan for suspected intentional injury to others.

The reporter interviewed the victim, Mr. Yue, by phone. He said that it was indeed wrong for him to have verbal abuse in his comments, but he should not have been hurt.

Why is the official apology late? Ostrich response leads to controversy

The reporter saw in the official Weibo @Ele.me online ordering of Ele.me that at 22:12 on the 14th, the official Weibo released an open letter from Ele.me CEO Zhang Xuhao, first making a solemn apology to the injured user, in assisting users to safeguard their legitimate rights and interests, "failed to do more timely and effective"; many of them mentioned reflection and introspection, directly pointing to the reason why the user’s appeal has not been resolved, which is that the company’s customer service response mechanism is sluggish and the market manager lacks user awareness.

However, some netizens questioned that from June 25th to July 14th, it took 20 days for the open letter of apology to be issued. Some users also told reporters that the apology letter was more like a corporate public relations behavior to offset the impact of bad public opinion.

The reporter noticed that in the response of Ele.me’s official Weibo on the 13th, the personal injury was also described as "fighting", and the attitude changed significantly in just one day.

Mr. Yue, the victim, told reporters that since he complained to the customer service hotline of the Ele.me platform on June 26, he has not seen anyone on the Ele.me platform, but only received a call from a person claiming to be a "supervisor" using the customer service hotline. It was on the night of Weibo, "but I was not free at that time, so I suggested that the other party contact again at 10 am the next day." "By the afternoon of the 14th, not only did I not see anyone from Ele.me, but I also did not get anyone’s name and contact information." Mr. Yue said that at that time, he specially asked the "supervisor" if he could leave his contact information and name so that he could contact him later, but the other party’s reply was "you don’t have to worry about these, we just need to contact you."

Mr. Yue said that nearly 20 days after the incident, he could only call the customer service hotline to inquire about the progress of the matter, and the reply he got was basically "This matter has been upgraded, please be patient."

Experts such as Tang Xueyu, a public lawyer at the Shandong Provincial Consumers Association, believe that although the incident was a personal injury, the ordering platform was the one who issued the order for the delivery and exposed the victim’s address, phone number and name to the merchant, which was responsible for management. Although there are no clear provisions on the protection of relevant consumer rights and interests on the Ele.me APP, according to Article 44 of the Consumer Rights Protection Law of the People’s Republic of China (Amendment) and Article 28 of the "Internet Transaction Management Measures" of the State Administration for Industry and Commerce, Ele.me should actively assist users in protecting their rights and claiming compensation, and even pay compensation first and then recover compensation from the merchant. "Compared with users, Ele.me is the strong party in front of the merchant, and the merchant should have signed an agreement or paid a security deposit," Tang Xueyu said.

According to Mr. Yue, the injured store has been detained by the Jinan public security organs, and he will need to file a civil lawsuit against the store to seek reasonable compensation.

Chen Guanwen, a lawyer at Shandong Japan-China Law Firm, said the ostrich-like response to the belated apology without specific compensation measures was not just a legal liability issue, but also involved corporate ethics and social responsibility. "The Ele.me platform lacks internal constraints on registered restaurants."

Is it convenient or safe? The operating model of ordering software needs to be improved

In fact, since the beginning of this year, the safety problems of online food ordering platforms have frequently broken out. The reporter learned that restaurants that are nominally registered as food delivery merchants on the ordering platform are actually "black workshops" that do not meet hygiene and safety standards. Online and offline restaurant addresses do not match, unlicensed and unphotographed, photos are fraudulent, and hygiene conditions are not up to standard… These "old problems" coupled with this vicious injury incident have made the rectification and management of the ordering platform particularly urgent.

The National People’s Congress Standing Committee’s Food Safety Law Enforcement Inspection Team found during the inspection that the rise of online food ordering and other emerging food formats has not only brought convenience to consumers, but also left regulatory gaps such as ineffective third-party online platforms, unlicensed merchants operating online, difficult to guarantee the sanitary environment, and arbitrary delivery processes.

"At present, the supervision of emerging food formats such as online food ordering is still in their own exploration. There is a lack of a unified national supervision model and standards. It is difficult to root out the emerging new problems by relying on surprise law enforcement actions and individual exploration. The Food and Drug Administration, industry and commerce, public security and other departments should study and implement unified and systematic solutions as soon as possible," said Liu Junhai, a professor at Renmin University School of Law.

Ma Qiang, a lawyer at Shandong Qilu Law Firm, told reporters that from the administrative level, the government lacks proper supervision of third-party platforms, and there are a large number of legal loopholes; on the other hand, if the government alone is actually difficult to control every food delivery staff and restaurants, standardized and detailed management is the unshirkable responsibility of the ordering platform.

From the perspective of strengthening user safety protection on online ordering platforms, experts suggest that, first, online ordering platforms urgently need to improve the accident response mechanism, and cannot let public opinion push them away. It is necessary to strengthen the management training of registered restaurants and employees, and enhance the professional quality and legal quality of employees. Second, the lack of privacy protection mechanisms for ordering users should be taken seriously immediately. For example, geographical location, home address, phone number, real name, and other information should be fully exposed to delivery units and delivery personnel, which poses great security risks. Data shielding and regular cleaning mechanisms should be established as soon as possible. Third, platforms should allow users to anonymously comment negatively, and prioritize user personal safety while allowing for the expression of their true wishes.

Ma Qiang believes that the after-sales services and compensation mechanism of the ordering platform are seriously formalized, and after the occurrence of food safety accidents and personal injury accidents, the ordering platform as one of the responsible persons should take the initiative to bear legal responsibility.

The peak design of unbounded aesthetics, Meizu 20 INFINITY Unbounded Edition perfectly interprets the beauty of unbounded

In the past two years, the competition in the domestic smartphone market has become more and more intense. In addition to the serious inversion in terms of performance and performance configuration, various mobile phone manufacturers have also made more and more innovations in the appearance design of mobile phones, and they have become more and more beautiful and fashionable. For example, the appearance design of the Meizu 20 INFINITY Unbounded Edition that has just been listed in the past two days feels quite outstanding.

Zhizu GQ recently launched a fashion short film. This time, it joined hands with Meizu to launch the "Meizu GQ Boundless Fashion Blockbuster". Perspective 315: 2.6 billion yuan is gained from consumers in a year, and only TA refuses the temptation in China.

Consumers who pay attention to protecting personal rights and interests can hardly miss the annual "Spring Festival Evening"-315 party.

However, from the moment the TV is turned on, the rights and interests of about 300 million consumers in the country have been infringed-dozens of seconds of on-off advertisements.

This is a long-standing "stubborn disease" in the smart TV industry, but there is a trend that bad money drives out good money, and manufacturers "fall" one by one. Not only on the "315" Rights Protection Day, in the past days, many consumers have continued to complain.

"Watching TV was originally relaxing. As a result, I watched the advertisement first, and I couldn’t turn it off. I escaped the advertisement of the mobile APP, but I couldn’t hide here. What is even more frightening is that the advertisement is getting longer and longer. At first, it takes more than ten seconds, and then it takes dozens of seconds and one minute. At this time, a sprint race may be over. "

On the social media platform, consumers can often see all kinds of complaints about smart TV on-off advertisements: whether it is sports fans who are anxious to watch the live broadcast of the game, children who are waiting to watch cartoons, or middle-aged and elderly users who are not familiar with the network, the bad experience that on-off advertisements can’t be skipped is a refreshing of the lower limit of endurance again and again.

No wonder, some people miss the old TV in the past, and they can turn it on and off with one click.

Smart TV, which integrates the rich content of the Internet, should not be so complicated, let alone make people wait too long.

It’s International Consumer Rights Day on March 15th, and the theme of this CCTV 3.15th party is "Fair, Honest and Safe Consumption", that is, fair, reasonable, equal and safe consumption. On-off advertising allows consumers to passively accept what they don’t want to see, which is contrary to fairness and integrity, and it doesn’t matter if they feel at ease.

On-off advertising, why become the "psoriasis" of smart TV?

Before the popularity of smart TV, the boot mode in our memory is very simple and rude. Pick up the remote control on the coffee table and you can boot it with one button.

But in the era of smart TV, after some TVs are turned on, it is not TV programs that jump out, but advertising content ranging from a few seconds to dozens of seconds. When the user just found the button to turn off the advertisement, the advertisement was finished.

Smart TV manufacturers have earned another advertising click fee. For the audience, the so-called intelligent technology did not bring the beautiful experience it deserved.

On a consumer service platform, key words such as "TV, startup advertisement" were entered, and 172 results were found.

Some users said that after buying the TV at first, it was a one-button switch, and there was no advertisement; After a few months, TV not only suddenly extended the on-off time, but also appeared a 15-second on-off advertisement.

In addition, some consumers complain that on-off advertising seems to have an extended trend. "I endured it in the first 10 seconds, but now it’s 15 seconds to 20 seconds. Every time I turn it on and off, it’s like being forced to watch an advertisement, which is getting more and more annoying."

In fact, before users buy smart TVs, some salespeople are reluctant to take the initiative to tell the system to pre-install information such as "on-off advertising" in order to sell products. Some manufacturers responded after receiving consumer complaints, and the on-off advertisement was pre-installed in the system and could not be cancelled.

Article 44 of the Advertising Law clearly states: "Publishing and sending advertisements through the Internet shall not affect users’ normal use of the Internet. Advertisements published in the form of pop-ups on Internet pages should be clearly marked with a closing sign to ensure one-click closure. "

But the reality is that users have searched for a long time in the system settings, but they have not found the function of closing advertisements.

Some consumers even said that a lot of advertising information is extremely misleading. "The information conveyed by many on-off advertisements doesn’t seem to be very reliable", which is easy to fall into the "trap" of on-off advertisements for some elderly viewers with weak awareness of prevention, who have just left the exaggerated TV shopping bombing of traditional TV.

The negative impact of on-off advertising can be small, but in any case, it should not be the reason for consumers to resist smart TV, nor can it become an obstacle to the orderly and healthy development of smart TV industry. The reason behind this "psoriasis", which has been repeatedly concerned by the regulatory authorities and repeatedly exposed by authoritative media, lies in the high advertising profits.

Manufacturers earn 2.6 billion advertising fees a year, and consumers are "bonus hunter"

With the rich Internet content ecology and the massive investment of technology companies, the smart TV market has maintained rapid growth.

At present, the number of domestic smart TV users has exceeded 300 million, and it has a tendency to continue to expand. Smart TV has long been a regular item at home.

In the early days when the Internet invaded traditional industries, it was often necessary to capture a large number of users through lower prices. As a result of price reduction, consumers have made a profit on the price, but relatively speaking, the profits of manufacturers have changed from thick to thin.

The so-called "wool is on the sheep", and the profit has become thinner. Where can we make up for it? As a result, "on-off advertising" was targeted in this way. What’s more, individual manufacturers have embedded advertisements in the dazzling TV UI interface.

According to statistics, the scale of domestic Internet advertising was close to 550 billion yuan last year, and system advertising, including on-off advertising, could bring 2.6 billion yuan in revenue to related manufacturers.

In October 2021, the "Pain Point Report of Big Screen TV" released by consumer reports showed that on-off advertising has become the "number one pain point" for consumers. Regarding the bad reviews of advertisements, consumers focus on three aspects: poor experience, long time and inability to close. Of all the domestic and foreign TV manufacturers surveyed, only Samsung, Panasonic, Sony, Glory and LG have no advertisements.

Then, the People’s Network Finance and Economics Research Institute released the "Research Report on On-Off Advertising of Smart TV in 2021". Relevant data also pointed out that advertising has seriously affected the consumer experience. More than 89.9% of the respondents said that their smart TVs contained "on-off advertisements", while only 10% did not.

86.1% of the manufacturers did not set the "one-button cancel/close button" for on-off advertising; 84.9% of the respondents only advertised the existing switch-on and switch-off when they used it, and only 9.6% of the respondents knew it before buying it.

It is worth mentioning that the data shows that the five most important items for respondents to choose smart TV are image quality, price, after-sales service, whether there are on-off advertisements and sound quality, accounting for 85.3%, 72.2%, 59.1%, 55.6% and 49.5% respectively. Whether there are on-off advertisements has become a very important factor for consumers to choose products.

This mode of making money is a "bonus hunter" from consumers, which not only damages consumers’ experience of watching TV, but also allows pervasive advertisements to break into family space.

Distorted profit model, while trampling on consumers’ rights and interests, does not forget to pour "cheap" dirty water on consumers. In fact, without discussing the high-priced products of Sony and other manufacturers, the price of glory smart screen without advertising is lower, and it has won many times in the objective evaluation of scientific and technological media.

Manufacturers can’t be "fair and upright", how can consumers "consume with peace of mind"?

According to the latest data released by Aoweiyun. com, in February this year, the scale of online retail sales of color TVs decreased by 17.6% year-on-year.

There are many reasons for the decline in smart TV sales, but the bad experience is not innocent, including on-off advertising.

As a product whose right to use has completely belonged to consumers, it is up to consumers to decide what to see, what to experience, and whether there can be on-off advertisements.

Science and technology are good, and the initial heart of TV practitioners cannot be changed.

The change of science and technology has produced more cool products, but the service and experience have not changed with it. When TV manufacturers only pay attention to the profit of technology and ignore the user experience, technology loses its initial intention of creating a better life.

Consumers will eventually vote with money, support products that pay more attention to user experience, and let good money drive out bad money.

On the other hand, in the domestic TV industry, we need manufacturers like Glory to dare to break the chaos in the industry and "run backwards".

In an exclusive interview with the people’s living room last year, Zhao Ming, CEO of Glory, said, "We are the first enterprise in China to put forward the idea of switching on and off without advertisements, and we are also one of the manufacturers that still insist on switching on and off the smart screen without advertisements. The core value of our enterprise is to take consumers as the center." Impressed many people.

It is not easy to insist on no-switch advertising. On-off advertising chaos has been repeatedly banned because it has indeed brought many benefits to many manufacturers. On the other hand, glory, "I will never move", from the creation of the smart screen category in 2019 to the present, I have been practicing the concept of "no advertising on and off".

For example, the X2 series of Glory Smart Screen released in September last year, in addition to continuing the feature of no advertisement on and off, has also performed well in terms of product strength such as sound quality, multi-screen collaboration and smart interconnection.

Good products can talk. At the 7th Responsible Consumption Forum, Glory Smart Screen won the "2021 Responsible Product Award" as a new product in the industry with its "customer first" values, excellent technical level and product quality.

The so-called responsible consumption means that consumers should make their consumption behavior have a positive impact on their future lives and adopt a "responsible" attitude in the process of consumption, so as to promote production and provide products that are more in line with the health and long-term development of the industry. Obviously, the screen of glory and wisdom can afford it.

As a pioneer who leads the trend of no advertising in the industry and a fellow traveler who thinks about consumers, turning on and off the glory smart screen without advertising is only the first step to be fair and upright, so that consumers can spend with peace of mind and promote the improvement of science and technology, and more TV manufacturers need to participate in it. The road ahead is long and there is a long way to go.

"parking service" is online, and supervision cannot be dropped.

The parking problem in the hospital has been bothering many car owners who go to see a doctor. In order to find a parking space, they often spend a lot of time, which also causes traffic congestion in the area. In order to solve this dilemma, on the 16th, the traffic police department of Nanning, together with the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University, e-driver and other related enterprises, took the lead in piloting the "parking service" paid service in the First Affiliated Hospital of Medical University. Citizens who came to see a doctor can enjoy this service by scanning the code and placing an order. Parking service charges 39 yuan service fee every time, and the parking fee is free for the first two hours, and then charged at 2 yuan per hour. (Nanning Evening News, May 17)

Nowadays, there are more and more cars in the city, and it is more and more difficult to park, especially in places like hospitals. The peak hours of queuing for parking often last for several hours. The "parking service" service makes parking easy. You don’t need to find your own parking space at all, and you don’t need to waste time because of parking. You only need an APP and a WeChat applet to get it easily.

However, as a new business, it has both advantages and disadvantages. Although the "parking service" using the Internet is simple, many apps not only record the user’s name, gender and age, but also record various information of the user’s vehicle in detail. Once leaked, it will bring opportunities to criminals. Moreover, the situation that netizens are worried about does not rule out: what if the driver directly drives away? If there is a collision or a trivial matter, and the driver has an accident, how should the responsibility be divided?

These worries and concerns are not superfluous. Conflicts and disputes caused by "parking service" have occurred from time to time in some places. According to media reports, in 2017, Mr. Luo, the owner of Foshan, drove to Guangzhou Baiyun Airport. Considering that parking at the airport was relatively expensive and inconvenient, he tried to choose an "e-parking" company to let the parking driver choose the surrounding parking lot for himself. Two days later, Mr. Luo came back from a business trip. Unexpectedly, his car "ran" for 400 kilometers for no reason.

Although the car service originated from the Internet platform is an innovative model, it is an internal behavior of enterprises and companies. At present, there is no special relevant regulation in China, which is easy to damage the interests of consumers. Therefore, as a new thing, "parking service", both the owner and the service provider need to be cautious. For parking service companies, they should have strict driving experience and driver’s license requirements for parking drivers, and strengthen daily management and supervision. For car owners who try the "parking service" service, they must take the initiative to confirm their certificates, identities, etc. when handing over their vehicles to the parking driver.

More importantly, the relevant functional departments should keep pace with the times, face up to the loopholes and potential safety hazards in this emerging industry, and regulate it from the aspects of industry license, qualification examination and change filing on the basis of strengthening self-discipline of merchants. For example, businesses are required to display the driver’s license, certificate of approval and job responsibilities of parking drivers in obvious positions, and how to take responsibility after problems occur, and formulate standardized ways to manage vehicles and keys, and at the same time introduce corresponding laws and regulations for effective supervision.
