There is no advantage in the rear leg space here, that is, it is at the same level as Lei Ling, but the head space is quite good. The manufacturer said that it is better than mainstream competitors at the same level. In addition, the backrest of the rear seat can be adjusted by 6 degrees, which is also a pleasing design.
The child safety seat interface in the back of this car is very eye-catching. Just dig a big slot and block it with a cover plate. Just take the cover plate away when you want to use it. I’ve tried many new Toyota cars before, except for Camry, which has the same design. Other mainstream models, such as Lei Ling, which is closely related, and Willanda, which has a higher level, and even the top warm men’s race in the family, don’t have this treatment. This little detail on Flananda deserves praise.
There is also an interesting point in the rear seats. There are no handrails in the rear of all models of Fenglanda, but there are central handrails in the rear of the high-end and top-end models of its brother Corolla. Will this configuration make everyone entangled?
■ Storage space
The performance of storage space in the car is very unsatisfactory. Many storage compartments have small internal space, such as the front armrest box, the storage compartment in front of the bumper is not big enough, and there are only door cup holders in the back row, and even more importantly, only one bottle of water can be put down.
The manufacturer seems to want to draw everyone’s attention to the trunk, so the configuration here has spent a lot of effort. In the high-equipped models, it is also an electric tailgate and a kick function, and the attraction is really good. After opening the tailgate, you can see that the trunk is not high from the ground, which is measured to be 750mm, but inside, it is sunken like a pit, and it will be more difficult to carry large luggage. By the way, like the long-distance test car Willanda I tried before, Flananda is not equipped with a trunk cover. It is an official accessory to be bought separately.
● Control: carefree power is the most unforgettable.
Let’s introduce the power. First of all, it is a 2.0L engine with a maximum power of 171 HP and a maximum torque of 205 Nm. The data is outstanding enough. The CVT gearbox matched with it is also the best partner for automatic locking. The manufacturer made them debut in the form of CP from the beginning. By the way, this powertrain is the main weapon of Flanders at present, because all models are equipped with this power configuration.
The power combination of this 2.0L engine +CVT gearbox is still very sincere. It belongs to the TNGA architecture and is relatively new in Toyota’s power lineup. It uses the power configuration of 1.8L naturally aspirated engine and +CVT gearbox. The next step is to guess the time. Will there be new members with other power configurations joining in after Fenglanda? Personally, I think there will be. First of all, the hybrid warrior is definitely not running. After all, all the overseas market versions of Fenglanda are selling hybrid models. Then, will the manufacturer add a few more models equipped with 1.5L engine, lower the starting price of this car a little, and let its attention continue to burn? It will take some time for these questions to be answered. Anyway, I didn’t find the answer at this test drive meeting.
With an interior similar to that of Lei Ling, it’s hard to get into this car without having the first impression of "this is a heightened version of Lei Ling", but this heightened sitting posture is quite pleasing and the vision is wide enough.
The familiar power configuration has a familiar and refreshing personality, and the throttle adjustment is more comfortable, not particularly sensitive, but it is obedient enough in the power output, the power comes directly, and the whole starting action is very smooth, and it feels really easy to drive in the city. The performance of strength can also be satisfactory. If you step on the accelerator a little deeper at the beginning, you can still feel quite active output, and the speed increase is neat enough.
It is naturally difficult for young people full of vitality to stay calm and honest. In the face of traffic jams, the dynamic performance is a little wronged, and the performance below 2000 rpm is not too spiritual. But as long as we seize the opportunity to deepen the throttle, the whole output will be much brighter after the speed goes up, and it will have a very good explosive force after 3000 rpm.
There is also a special place that can give people a good impression when driving this Flanders, that is, the output is always smooth. It can not only respond to the power output in tune, but also keep a coherent rhythm. For a compact SUV that locates the city, this performance is definitely the biggest plus item. In addition, the difference in dynamic response is quite obvious in the POWER strong mode. Young people still need to be a little crazy occasionally, and the POWER strong mode can help you bring more direct momentum.
The suspension structure is the former McPherson rear torsion beam, but I didn’t expect to have such a close relationship with Lei Ling, and it was actually separated here. However, the actual performance of the suspension will not make people worry. The TNGA architecture is still capable and resilient, and the vibration filtering performance is quite in place. The potholes and undulations on the road surface are simply filtered, and a little toughness can be fed back. It is really a big surprise that the suspension does not feel too stiff. The suspension shows a very stable texture.
Suspension adjustment will still have some tight characteristics. When encountering these "hard battles" of speed bumps, the vibration can’t be solved basically, and the heavy feeling is "scared away". By the way, after all, it is a compact SUV with entry positioning, and there is no four-wheel drive in Fenglanda.
The steering wheel turns a little more than two and a half times, the steering force is not particularly light, it feels a little tight, and the body follow-up is also direct enough. Is that what it feels like to have a knife in your hand? Unfortunately, the suspension support is a bit off the chain, and it is not particularly confident in the corner. Obviously, this is not an SUV that emphasizes sports.
It is officially announced that the turning radius of Fenglanda is 5.2 meters. Like C-HR, you can really feel its flexible skills when you turn around in the urban streets. The NVH project is ok, the wind noise and road noise are well controlled, and the engine noise is still inevitably transmitted into the cabin, but it is still within the acceptable range.
